I have been creating software for 27 years. I know how to do it. But
I also know - it is EXPENSIVE, time-consuming work to do it right -
to create and Test it thoroughly, (for a Dozen different versions
of windows, using thousands of different motherboards, video
boards and audio boards...)
YET, I have never created an eBook (though I will,
now!). Yes, of course, when it came to typing eBooks, I had a hundred
reasons (excuses) why I had not done it. In a word: I was just like
everyone else.
The sad thing is, I DID know the Secrets:
Software is HARD to make Viral. eBooks
are EASY to make viral.
Software is expensive WORK to make and test. eBooks
much less.
eBooks could be created
WITHOUT WRITING A WORD.
I had no excuse. I knew that having MY OWN eBooks
was the EASIEST, the CHEAPEST, the FASTEST WAY to Crack the First WALL
and make more.

This was not a surprise. I KNEW you MUST have your own products. Products
to build YOUR business and name. To build your "list." So
you HAVE affiliates selling for you, rather than BEING someone's
affiliate.
Every successful marketer out there has his own product.
Most, have more than one. THEY sell those products with Resell Rights
we all buy! Most of them, have "their own" eBooks.
Their own VIRAL eBooks. That is NOT a coincidence. It's a
lesson.
BUT...
I admit, I was not being smart.
For me, it was
too much tedious WORK to create an eBook!
Why? NOT the writing. The software you need to create the eBook EXE
file - called an eBook "compiler" - required the book
to be written in HTML.
I ABSOLUTELY DETEST Typing HTML.
It is such a pain. It makes just the simple act of TYPING the eBook
HARD WORK. Frustrating work.
I snort every time someone claims they have a WYSIWYG (What
You See Is What You Get) HTML editor. Yeah, right - tell me another
tale!
Did you ever have
to flip back and forth between the HTML 'editor' and the 'preview'
a thousand times trying to get the HTML page to look right? Back and
forth, back and forth...
And to be honest, I always considered eBooks by themselves
pretty boring looking - hard for me to read for very long.
(Not that I have a lot of time for listening to MP3's or watching
DVD's, and taking notes, either!).
PDF? Frankly,
PDF is even worse. MORE boring. And the software to 'type it' is expensive.
I personally find PDF "fuzzy" and harder to read than web
pages, it has way too many buttons/icons and it is always 'interrupting',
asking to be updated or downloaded! I'd swear their PDF "maker"
and HUGE "reader" were designed by geeks, for geeks!
Naturally, you can't just "type HTML." There is all that extra
software/tools to buy and use to get the rest of what you need to 'finish'
a product. That really bothered me too.
BUY another software
program if you want pictures or art,
BUY another if you want to
record audio
BUY another if you want to
capture snapshots of running software or
website (say, for a tutorial or a review).
And so on, And so on, and so on. ad naseum
To add "insult" to "injury", the "eBook"
you make is pretty boring
looking (unless you love to dig
into CODE, like JavaScript and Dynamic HTML).
I just do NOT DO boring.
or HTML typing. ;-) SO, for a while, I avoided all that.
I was content to resell eBooks written
by others. OK, trying to resell. That is when I discovered
the Second WALL.

THEY never, ever, tell you this:
With 'Resell Rights' products, THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of competitors
bought and promote the EXACT SAME eBook. Some from the author, some
from the people the author sold to, and so on.
That means THOUSANDS using the same keywords on Google Adwords, ezines
and Pay-Per-Click engines. And there are even MORE COMPETITORS when
selling 'affiliate' products.
Consider, that ClickBank has over 80,000+ affiliates registered. Do
a search for the name of any popular eBook that comes with "Resell
Rights" on Google. Without fail, you will see 20,000, 30,000, even
over 50,000 pages selling it within weeks of it being released!
80,000+ affiliates...50,000+ web pages. That is a CROWD. No easy way
for YOU to stand out, no easy way to compete.
You could spend a fortune on advertising,
and never make a dime!
Here is a surprise: Selling eBooks I Had 'Rights' to has
NOT made me rich.

I would not want my wife to know - mums the word! - but I spent
lot more money buying rights to products, than I earned trying to
sell them!
But then, I eventually decided I was being an idiot.
I KNEW better. I new eBooks were easier to create, more
profitable, etc.that I was just procrastinating, JUST because I hated
typing HTML. In my world - the world of Software products - I KNEW
that "he who creates the product, makes
the BIG bucks." Apparently, eBooks are no different.
Duh.
I also KNEW, that eBooks, boring or not, are a BILLION
DOLLAR industry. People buy them. Lots of them. They buy, in sheer
numbers, more eBooks than software. They are easier to make MORE Viral
than software ever could be. eBooks have a LOT more profit potential.
I WANTED to cash in on the
INSANE PROFITS
people make with "their own" eBooks
You would be AMAZED what it takes to keep 6 "biting babies"
fed, clothed, educated. I needed to have another, easier, faster
way to make money besides writing software. Resell Rights, I had already
learned, was NOT it.
But
there was still the problem of all
that extra software and work to make a complete eBook. And I
STILL DETEST HTML.
And then there is the BIGGER
problem of trying to fight - even with 'my own' ebook - all
that possible competition with a boring looking product.
I
sat on the porch with my youngest son, Keegan, one afternoon, watching
him play with the coolest toy. I had never seen an RC (radio controlled)
toy quite like that. Instead of a helicopter (he loves helicopters),
it was a 'Flying Saucer' looking thing. "oh my gosh Dad, this
is so cool looking..."
I had an Epiphany:
IF I could make eBooks really EASY and FAST, WITHOUT the need
for HTML!! I'd have lots of them, fast. That would Break the First
Wall: 'My own VIRAL products'
IF MY eBooks were NOT
boring, were UNUSUAL, stood out - If they looked
"Cool," they would be Easy
to Sell. If mine were DIFFERENT from every other eBook out there,
and FUN.
